B Arts have been creating amazing site-specific performances in locations across North Staffordshire, the UK and abroad for twenty-five years. Our work is co-created with local communities and draws on personal and communal histories and concerns. We use art-forms from shadow puppetry and lantern-making to street dance and digital projection.
Harvest (2011) drew together communities around a Victorian neighbourhood park in Stoke-on-Trent to create an evening that combined choirs, gardening, bee keeping and King Lear – performed while the audience were served a three-course meal. Partner organisations included the friends of the Park; a local primary school; adult learners from four countries; and groups accessing mental health services.
