Art City conference 2019 How do artists shape a city?

How Do Artists Shape a City? Conference will bring together people from across the sectors, and disciplines, to capture learning and experiences and to raise awareness of the variety of activities and expertise in how arts and cultural programming can impact on place and the lives of people in 'forgotten' cities and towns across the UK.

The conference will be an active, lively event. There will be interactive sessions happening across the city of Stoke-on-Trent, led by a wide range of speakers and practitioners, hosting conversations, sharing experiences, learning and seeing work in action.

There will be ample opportunities to meet other delegates, find out about work that is happening now and to create new networks with a shared vision.

Building from the Artcity programme, a five year artist led intervention in Stoke-on-Trent, to put arts in non arts spaces, we are inviting artists, programmers, producers, civic leaders, property owners, landlords, decision makers, grant distributors, community and cultural champions, academics and activists, urban planners, architects, coms/ branding specialists and anyone interested or involved in shaping and making places to this conference.

How Do Artists….? Opens Wednesday 9th October 2019 (registration from 4.30pm, social event at 7.30PM), runs through Thursday 10th October 2019 and ends at 1PM on Friday 11th October 2019.

There will be a full programme of curated events and food offers throughout the 3 days.
