The next Climate Cafe in our building will be on Saturday 4th May 10-3pm.
On the first Saturday of each month we are inviting people to take part in workshops, discussions, mini events that explore ideas around climate justice.
The Climate Cafe is an open, inclusive space for people of all ages who want to start to discuss or already have ideas around climate justice. The Climate Cafe is an informal space where everyone is welcome to join the conversation and get involved, and provides an opportunity to meet new people who also want to start off conversations about how to live more sustainably and tackle climate justice in their homes, communities and work places. It is a space to try out creative ways of making art, crafts, mending, re-using, thinking, cooking, eating, sharing resources and talking about climate justice.

Climate Cafe: Contributor Call Out
This is a new project and we are looking for contributors to help make it happen!
We are putting out an open call for artists, creatives or community members who are interested in expanding their practice to think, talk about and explore the themes of climate justice in their work. This open call out is to run an activity to go alongside our cafe offer, this might include modelling a clothes/book/toy swap, a repair cafe or an upcycle cafe or running a participatory creative workshop or hosting a Q and A around film or something else entirely!
All proposals should have a participatory element and be suitable for people of all ages and abilities, to drop in and take part alongside the Saturday cafe offer. It is possible that elements of this creative workshop might take place in the green spaces around our building located at 72 Hartshill Road, Stoke ST47RB, but the main activity should take place in our Bread in Common cafe.
The fee
We are able to provide £150 per workshop, which is available for the artist/community member to cover the costs of delivering the activity on one day. We will be able to provide materials and equipment on top of this fee and provide support.
How to apply
To express your interest in running a creative workshop or modelling a ‘swap shop’ or similar, please complete the expression of interest form below, detailing any previous experience, what your creative activity or idea is, how it relates to the themes of the climate cafe, how you expect people might participate and what materials and equipment would be needed.
