Trent Valley
Cabinet of Curiosities
B. ARTS are working with Staffordshire Wildlife on a project to explore the local folklore, stories and history of the River Trent to create a Cabinet of Curiosities which will be part of a touring exhibition later this year…and we need your help!
Is there a piece of folklore, a song, rhyme or heritage about the River Trent you think we should include?
Do you have a personal story or memory relating the River Trent you’d like to share?
Perhaps you have a wish for the Trent in the future?
Is the River Trent a place you have visited or walked along – is there a landmark – big or small you think we should include? Perhaps you have a photo you’ve taken?
We’re on the search for anything that helps us tell the story of the river – especially the stretch that runs through Staffordshire…
Got something to share? Fill in the form below or email us directly at info@b-arts.org.uk:
Help us make….The Trent Valley Cabinet of Curiosities!
The cabinet is a magical object that bears marks of lying undiscovered at the bottom of the River Trent – for hundreds – maybe thousands of years, or perhaps it even somehow emerged from the riverbed itself!
This ‘other-worldly’ cabinet from the depths of the Trent, will open up to reveal – different compartments … each revealing a different story of Trent Valley.
The ‘contents’ of the cabinet will be designed and created with artists and communities working together – responding to the local heritage of Trent Valley across July and August

We will also be running a drop-in open workshop as part of August Climate Cafe - Saturday 1st August 10-3pm and scheduling some additional open workshops more details coming soon.
In the meantime! Transforming the Trent Valley are running a series of River Monitoring Walks you can sign up for here
