To commemorate thirty years since The National Garden Festival created a new green space from the former Shelton Bar steel works, Artcity co-ordinated an extensive programme of activities, sights and experiences along a specially-created trail through this hidden green jewel in the city.

The original festival commissioned many artists who have gone on to become household names, including Anthony Gormley, Cornelia Parker and Maggie Howarth. Artcity commissioned new artists including Jo Ayre and the Clay Comrades, Lina & Hernandez, Richard Redwin & Toby White, and James Wood.

The weekend opened with a night walk on the Friday before full day programmes on the Saturday and Sunday.
