A national arts and heritage programme that provided training and development opportunities for early-career producers in Stoke-on-Trent.

In 2019, B arts were part of Paper Peace, an 18-month national arts and heritage programme to commemorate 100 years of Peace created by Emergency Exit Arts. We were a national partner alongside CreativeScene (Dewsbury), Ideas Test (Medway), and Vivacity Peterborough Culture and Leisure.

The programme was full of excitement and here's a snapshot of what happened:

  • Paper Peace commenced with a 14ft high illuminated Peace Poem setting of on tour. The large scale mobile artwork, created with leading artist and poet Robert Montgomery, will be seen by thousands of people as it travels along motorways to cities across the UK.

  • Local archivists and museums shared their collections related to acts of peace

  • Our Young Producers worked with artists and museum experts as part of Paper Peace

  • BLINK: See Peace Differently was the project finale in 2019, which transformed streets and city centres with large-scale professional artworks.

From this experience I definitely feel that I have more confidence to go into the arts world and start my career as a designer. The training I undertook during the Paper Peace programme gave me a first-hand experience of what goes into the production of an arts event
