The Depository of the Dull

 The Depository of the Dull

The Depository of the Dull (Depod) is a new gaul-less gallery, museum of the mundane, home of the humble. It is a place to exhibit the everyday.

The first ever exhibition is called ‘Objects of Dullsire’.

Experienced artists Siobhan Mcaleer and writer Esther Brennan have put together a mark making kit, work sheets, activities and videos designed to allow participants to explore and experiment with art and creative writing in a way that they have not done before. Participants are invited to develop their mark making and creative writing, with a view to exhibit their ‘Object of Dullsire’ to express its true value and story.

Working with a number of participants, we have asked what Object they are going to show us. We’re looking for objects that look dull, some may say boring. We are looking for things a stranger might see, and not know the story behind it. Something that could be forgotten or left behind.
