The View from Where I Stand

The View From Where I Stand

We invited our associate artists and other local artists to respond to a micro-commission with the title 'The View from Where I Stand’. We asked them to produce a small piece of work in any medium they liked. Our artists responded by creating beautiful poetry, graphic illustrations, photographs, Lino prints and even sewing their designs. Interestingly there was a strong theme of windows, light and darkness that came through in the submissions.

Katie is a B arts associate artist and volunteer, she works in illustration and this is a picture of the view from the backyard - the cat is the window is the neighbour's!

Hilary Hughes

Becki Kremer is an associate artist at B-Arts who specialises in illustration and visual art.

As well as illustrating, she is a self-taught creative practitioner and graphic designer with a love for bold patterns, kitsch aesthetics, and hand lettering.

She also totally fights crime in her spare time under the cover of darkness. Allegedly.

You can view more of her artwork on Facebook @rexrexart or Instagram @beckikremerillustration

Reading the grounds

When faced with an uncertain future we may look for meaning in chance or ritual.

This coffee was roasted by my father - a small business owner in an 'at-risk' age group.

The roasting is itself a scientific process that relies on vigilance and timing.

Barely a third of the way through the recommended twelve week isolation period and the safety of the business is in conflict with personal and public safety.
